Hello

My name is Veronica Tucker

I'm Veronica Tucker — a writer, physician, and lifelong New Englander who believes in the quiet power of words.

Writing became part of my life when I needed a way to hold the moments that might otherwise pass by unnoticed.

My work weaves together poetry, prose, and reflection, shaped by time spent at the intersection of resilience, healing, and everyday life.

As a physician specializing in emergency medicine and addiction medicine, I carry stories that deepen my understanding of both suffering and hope. Those experiences often find their way into my writing.

Here, you'll find a collection of poems, essays, and observations drawn from the visible and invisible spaces we move through. I believe in honoring the beauty, the ache, and the complexity of being human,  one word, one story, one breath at a time.

Thank you for being here.

My Story

Writing has become a way for me to slow down and make sense of the spaces I move through. As a physician working in emergency medicine and addiction medicine, I move between urgency and stillness every day, surrounded by stories of resilience, heartbreak, hope, and survival. Over time, I realized I needed a place to carry what could not stay contained within hospital walls.

Poetry gives me a way to hold the moments that do not fit into charts or case notes: the lingering echo of a patient’s goodbye, the unseen grief tucked into a simple gesture, the fierce beauty of people fighting to heal. Essays allow me to step back, to trace patterns across seasons of life, and to find meaning where the path is uneven. Together, they offer a way to honor both the intensity and the tenderness of being human.

I live in New Hampshire, where the seasons shape the rhythms of my days. I am a married mom of three, an early-morning runner, biker, a lover of travel and matcha lattes, and someone who finds peace in the woods, on quiet roads, and in the well-worn pages of books. I carry my work with me, but also the deep, ordinary magic of family, friendship, and the act of noticing.

This space is a home for my words. Some pieces reflect the adrenaline and ache of the work I do. Others rise from the quieter moments: the chaotic grace of motherhood, the hush of snowfall, the weight and wonder of memory. I write to remember, to bear witness, to connect, and sometimes just to breathe.

I am grateful you are here, reading alongside me.
