Hamilton Stone Review

I am delighted to have two poems in the Fall 2025 issue of Hamilton Stone Review: “Rounds at Dawn” and “After the Code, Silence.”

Both pieces come from the world behind the double doors of the emergency department.
“Rounds at Dawn” follows the hushed choreography of early morning rounds, the antiseptic air, the soft vitals spoken aloud, and the small rituals that help us begin another day of showing up.

“After the Code, Silence” lingers in the moments that follow loss, the way a room exhales, how normal life resumes just outside its threshold, and the rhythms a physician keeps carrying long after everyone else moves on.

I am grateful to the editors at Hamilton Stone Review for giving these poems a home.
